We want to be as environmentally neutral as possible! 

Wave Star Energy incorporates environmental thinking throughout our development and production process, the installation and during operation of the wave machine.
We only use biodegradable oils approved for outdoor use in our hydraulic systems – and non-toxic paints that are neutral in the environment.

It is our goal to leave as small a Carbon Footprint as possible. This is done by continually reducing the amount of CO2 that is used for the production, operation and transportation of the machines in terms of CO2-free kWh, the machine produces in its lifetime. This will make our facilities as C02 neutral as possible.

Since the installation of the scale 1:10 machine, a constant growth in sea weed and benthic population has been observed. Once a year a video record is made of the sea bed under the machine to document the development. From the observations it is documented that the area below the machine is like a “sanctuary”, also attracting fish. Apparently the change between full sun light and a slight shadow, less sun light, below the machine plays a role.

The system is located in an EU bird sanctuary. No changes to bird behaviour have yet been observed
